He began his career in private practice, where he remained until the 15th Judicial Circuit appointed him Westmoreland County Commonwealth’s Attorney in 1992. He joined the team of Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorneys in Hampton in 1994, where he eventually became Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney. In 2004, he became the first Public Defender in Hampton, where he and his staff of 14 attorneys focused solely on criminal defense.
