The High Road Program
The High Road Program, Inc. was founded in 1976 as one of the first organizations to provide education and counseling services to individuals arrested for driving under the influence in California.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE (DUI) TREATMENT SERVICES
HIGH ROAD is licensed by the State of California’s Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs and approved by Los Angeles and Riverside counties to provide DUI treatment services for individuals convicted of a wet-reckless, first, second, or multiple DUI offenses.
FIRST OFFENDER SERVICES
WET RECKLESS (SB1176)
- Individuals convicted of a “wet-reckless” DUI offense must complete 12 hours of alcohol and drug education.
FIRST OFFENDER (AB803)
- Individuals ages 18–20 convicted of a first DUI offense must complete 12 hours of alcohol and drug education.
FIRST OFFENDER 3- OR 4-MONTH TREATMENT PROGRAM (AB541)
- Individuals ages 21 and older convicted of a first DUI offense must complete 32 hours, consisting of education, group, and individual counseling.
- Duration may vary depending on county location.
FIRST OFFENDER 6-MONTH TREATMENT PROGRAM (AB762)
- As ordered by the court and as a condition of probation, individuals age 21+ convicted of a first DUI offense with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.20% or greater must complete a minimum of 45 hours consisting of education, group, and individual counseling.
FIRST OFFENDER 9-MONTH TREATMENT PROGRAM (AB1353)
- As a condition of probation, individuals age 21+ convicted of a first DUI offense with a BAC of 0.20% or greater may be required by the court to complete a 62.25-hour, 9-month program consisting of education, group, and individual counseling.
SECOND OFFENDER SERVICES
SECOND OFFENDER 3-MONTH TREATMENT PROGRAM (AB803)
- Individuals ages 18–20 convicted of a second DUI offense must complete 32 hours consisting of education, group, and individual counseling.
SECOND OFFENDER 12-MONTH TREATMENT PROGRAM (SB38)
- Individuals age 21+ whose conviction date was prior to 1990 must complete 72 hours consisting of education, group, and individual counseling.
SECOND OFFENDER 18-MONTH TREATMENT PROGRAM (SB38/SB1344)
- Individuals age 21+ whose conviction date was 1990 or later must complete 78 hours consisting of education, group, and individual counseling.
MULTIPLE OFFENDER SERVICES
MULTIPLE OFFENDER 30-MONTH TREATMENT PROGRAM (SB1365)
- Individuals age 21+ convicted of a third or more DUI offense may be ordered to complete 158 hours consisting of education, group, and individual counseling.
- Participants must complete a compendium of evidence demonstrating measurable improvement in responsible living and behavior for the court.
PENAL CODE 1000 / D.E.J. SERVICES
DEFERRED ENTRY OF JUDGEMENT / DRUG DIVERSION
- As a condition of probation, individuals convicted of a misdemeanor drug offense must complete an approved 31.5-hour (16-week) or 47-hour (20-week) program consisting of education, group, and individual counseling.
- Program length depends on the county of conviction.
OTHER MANDATED SERVICES
STOP
- Habilitative and re-habilitative services for individuals released from state institutions who have participated in alcohol and drug treatment while incarcerated.
- Includes group and individual counseling, random urinalysis drug testing, education services, employment assistance, referrals to sober living housing, medical support, transportation, and job placement.
GENERAL SERVICES
ALCOHOL AND/OR OTHER DRUG TREATMENT SERVICES
- Individual and group counseling and education for individuals and family members to support recovery from substance abuse.
ALCOHOL & OTHER DRUG (AOD) ASSESSMENT
- Comprehensive assessment completed with a certified substance abuse counselor using the Addiction Severity Index (ASI).
- Evaluates medical, employment/support, substance use, legal, family/social, and psychiatric areas.
ANGER MANAGEMENT
- Services for individuals who self-refer, are referred by a community agency or employer, or are court-ordered.
- Level and duration of services are determined by court order.
