Welcome to The Guidance Center’s Adults Drug Alcohol Safety Education Program (DASEP), a state-approved program for adults in Arkansas who need to complete court-ordered DUI, DWI, or alcohol/drug education requirements. Our program provides certified instruction, screenings, and interactive classroom sessions to help participants understand the effects of alcohol and drugs, legal consequences, and safe decision-making.
At The Guidance Center, we make completing your DASEP program straightforward and reliable. Our professional team ensures participants receive proper guidance and a certificate of completion recognized by Arkansas courts. Additional services, including counseling, group therapy, and mental health support, are available to help you maintain overall wellness while fulfilling your education requirements.

Who we are.
The Guidance Center (Western Arkansas Counseling & Guidance Center) is a non-profit community behavioral healthcare provider serving the communities of Crawford, Franklin, Logan, Polk, Sebastian, and Scott counties in western Arkansas. The Guidance Center is governed by a Board of Directors. Board members are comprised of volunteer representatives from the Guidance Center’s six county service area.
We are also a member of the Arkansas Council for Behavioral Health, Inc. (ACBH) which is a non-profit organization representing each of the 12 participating community mental health centers and other outpatient behavioral health providers. The MHCA is dedicated to improving the overall health and well-being of all Arkansans and communities throughout the state. MHCA members provide comprehensive services specially designed to meet the individual behavioral healthcare needs of Arkansas’ citizens.
The Guidance Center opened its doors in April of 1972 with the goal to provide quality behavioral healthcare services for men, women, adolescents and children suffering from mental, emotional, physical and substance use disorders. To that end, we have continued to offer treatment programs and services for the recovery from all types of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
What we do.
Life can be difficult. Statistically, most people find themselves in need of some mental health or behavioral health care at least once in their lifetime. This might be due to a particular situation that has occurred or just one’s innate biology. Either way, seeking care is nothing to be ashamed about. It is a more common need than most people believe. The key is seeking treatment early.
The Guidance Center is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic serving the communities of western Arkansas. We provide a wide-array of care for children, adolescents and adults. These services are for the treatment of mental, behavioral and substance use disorders.
Our staff includes licensed counselors, clinical social workers, psychologists, APRNs and psychiatrists who are educated and specialize in the treatment of mental and substance use disorders. With this multi-disciplinary approach, we are able to take care of all your needs. These services include:
- Outpatient Counseling
- Substance Use Treatment
- Primary Care
- Psychological Testing
- Medication Management
- Group Therapy
- A variety of additional programs for children and adolescents, as well as adults and families.
A mandatory court ordered education program for adults who have received DUI, DWI, and/or possession violations. Safety instructors are certified by the state and provide screenings and classroom instruction.
