DUI Courses

 

Level 1 DUI Course

  • Audience: First DUI or Felony Drug Arrest (F.S.S. 893)
  • Program Includes:
    • 1-hour individual evaluation interview
    • Course instruction: 4-hour class on Friday + 8-hour class on Saturday (lecture, videos, discussion, group interaction)
  • Total Length: 13 hours (interview included)

Level 2 DUI Course

  • Audience: Repeat DUI offenders or those with DUI amended to Reckless Driving; prior DUI school attendance required
  • Program Includes:
    • 1-hour individual evaluation interview
    • Course instruction: 4-hour class on Friday + 8-hour class on Saturday + 8-hour class on Sunday (lecture, videos, discussion, group interaction)
  • Total Length: 21 hours (interview included)

Special Supervision Services

Breath Alcohol Ignition Interlock Device (IID / BAIID)

An Ignition Interlock Device (IID) is a breathalyzer installed in your vehicle. It prevents the engine from starting if the driver’s breath-alcohol concentration exceeds the state limit. Mobile devices may be available on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility:

  • 5-year license revocation: Must wait 12 months from revocation date
  • 10-year license revocation: Must wait 24 months from revocation date
  • Must abstain from driving, alcohol, or illegal drugs during the waiting period

What Happens After a DUI Arrest?

Act within 10 days to apply for a Hardship License; otherwise, penalties apply:

  1. Refusing a Breathalyzer:
  • 90-day suspension before eligibility for Hardship License
  1. BAC of 0.08 or Above:
  • Follow DMV and court instructions to apply for restricted driving privileges
  1. Failure to Enroll Within 10 Days:
  • Missed enrollment can result in additional license suspension and restrictions
