Behavioral Health Intervention Center

Coastal Behavioral Health administered via NC DWI Place is a state-certified provider in North Carolina that specializes in DWI assessments and substance use treatment. They are particularly well-known for their expertise in handling “out-of-state” cases and utilizing telehealth to help drivers resolve North Carolina license holds from anywhere in the country.

Behavioral Health Intervention Center, LLC provides North Carolina–approved online DWI and DUI assessments, education classes, and substance use services for residents and out-of-state clients needing to meet North Carolina DWI requirements. Based in Charlotte, we offer fully virtual DWI and DUI assessments, ADETS classes, and DOT SAP evaluations through secure Telehealth—allowing you to complete court- or DMV-mandated services from anywhere. Licensed by the NC Department of Health and Human Services, our confidential, convenient online programs make it simple to satisfy North Carolina DWI compliance and return-to-duty requirements without an office visit.

The DWI Program

The program follows a strict state-mandated process to ensure legal compliance and license reinstatement.

  • Mandatory Assessment: Every participant must begin with a clinical interview and a review of their lifetime driving record. Per North Carolina General Statute, the fee for this assessment is exactly $100.00.

  • ADETS (Alcohol Drug Education Traffic School): For first-time offenders who meet specific criteria (low BAC and no prior record), a 16-hour educational course is required. The state-set fee for this class is $160.00.

  • Outpatient Treatment: If the assessment indicates a higher level of risk, participants are assigned to treatment tiers ranging from 20 to 90 hours.

  • Telehealth Convenience: They offer live, virtual classes and assessments via Zoom, which are fully recognized by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS).
