DCCCA Lawrence Outpatient Services
About Us
For more than five decades, DCCCA has worked alongside communities to strengthen lives, support families, and create opportunities for lasting change. Founded in 1974 in Lawrence, Kansas, the organization began as a community response to the growing need for alcohol abuse support services. Over time, it has evolved into a comprehensive nonprofit dedicated to improving the safety, health, and well-being of individuals and families across multiple states.
At its core, DCCCA believes that meaningful change happens when people are given the support, resources, and guidance they need to move forward. The organization provides a wide range of programs designed to address some of the most pressing challenges facing communities today, including behavioral health treatment, substance use prevention, foster care and adoption services, family preservation, and traffic safety education. Through these services, DCCCA works with adults, youth, and children to build healthier lives and stronger families.
Collaboration is central to DCCCA’s approach. By partnering with local governments, schools, community coalitions, and service providers, the organization develops programs that respond directly to the needs of the communities it serves. This cooperative model ensures that support systems are not only accessible but also practical, sustainable, and effective.
Equally important is DCCCA’s commitment to evidence-based practices and continuous improvement. Programs are carefully evaluated and guided by research, allowing the organization to adapt, innovate, and deliver services that truly make a difference. With a team of dedicated professionals and partners, DCCCA remains focused on one guiding purpose: improving lives and building safer, healthier communities for future generations.
Today, DCCCA continues to expand its reach while staying grounded in the same mission that inspired its founding—helping individuals and families overcome challenges, restore stability, and move forward with confidence and hope.
