Edward F. Younger was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, and graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 1966, where he was awarded a BA degree in Economics. He was awarded a LL.B. Degree from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law, a University known for its strong emphasis on Virginia Law. He has traveled extensively, including independent study of the British Legal System, and the INNS of Court in London, England. He has traveled throughout Europe, Turkey, Afghanistan, Nepal, and India. He was an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Arlington County, prosecuting cases that included sexual abuse, robbery, murder, rape, grand larceny, bad checks, credit card fraud, shoplifting cases, complex embezzlement cases, and white collar offenses including construction fraud, and business fraud cases. He was selected as Vice President and General Counsel for the Rahau Companies for the United States and Canadian corporations. He was responsible for corporate acquisitions; preparing “Technology Agreements”, preparing corporate contracts and company wide compliance with legal standards. He served on the Management Committee for North America for 3 ½ years, and he was selected for a three person committee to administer credit up to $450,000,000.00; responsible for trade secrets litigation, safety compliance, severance and employment agreements, wrongful termination, legal issues concerning the headquarters plus six plants and eight sales offices in the U.S. and Canada. Responsible also for land acquisition and technology acquisition and compliance with all US and Canadian Laws concerning importing and exporting products, and employee compliance with immigration requirements. He has experience in arbitrating construction disputes as an Arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association. He was involved with the Task Force for Tyson’s Corner transportation corridor, President of the McLean Planning Committee, a former Vice President of McLean Citizen’s Association, active with zoning, planning and traffic issues and concerns in the county. His background includes 36 years experience in representing clients in all facets of business, construction, and zoning. He is a Member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Fredericksburg Area Bar Association, Virginia State Bar, Spotsylvania Preservation Association, Fredericksburg Area Builders Association, and the American Bar Association.
