Michael Kruse is a seasoned criminal defence lawyer with over 20 years of trial experience in Ontario. Mike heads up Kruse Law Firm which is dedicated to vigorously defending individuals charged with a criminal offence.
Mike graduated from Queen’s University in 1984 with a degree in Business. He went on to attend the University of Western Ontario where he received a Bachelor of Law in 1987 and he was called to the Ontario Bar as a Lawyer in 1989.
After being called to the Bar, Mike worked for four years as an Assistant Crown Attorney with the Ministry of the Attorney General in Windsor and Toronto. During his tenure as a criminal prosecutor, Mike gained extensive criminal trial experience in all areas of criminal law. Mike has served as a prosecutor within many jury trials in the Superior Court of Justice and hundreds of trials in the Ontario Court of Justice.
Alec Fiszauf received his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto in 1977. Upon graduation, Alec articled with the criminal law firm of Carter and Powell in Toronto in 1977-1978. After completion of his articles in 1978 and the Law Society Bar Admission Course, he became a licensed lawyer in 1979. Since then Alec practiced criminal law in Toronto and relocated to Brantford, Ontario in 1987.
Alec has appeared in trial courts throughout Southern Ontario with a focus on criminal trials and appeals. He served as a Federal Prosecutor for 8 years, where he gained in-depth criminal law experience.
Anthony Andreopoulos is an associate lawyer at Kruse Law Firm. His practice is devoted exclusively to the defence of clients charged with all types of criminal offences including impaired driving. He graduated from York University on the Dean’s list with an Honours B.A. in Psychology and Law & Society. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor in 2010 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2011. While at the University of Windsor, Mr. Andreopoulos gained a passion for criminal defence work during his commitment to Community Legal Aid, a student clinic that provides legal service to disenfranchised individuals residing in Windsor and Essex County.
Karl Toews received his law degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2011. While attending law school, Karl developed a passion for criminal law through working at his law school’s community legal aid clinic, Downtown Legal Services. Karl’s criminal law professors at the University of Toronto included Justice Michael Code, Hamish Stewart, Kent Roach, and John Norris.
While in law school, Karl gained further criminal law experience by spending his summers working at the law office of Alan Gold and the federal prosecutor’s office in Brampton. Karl also volunteered at the Association in Defence of the Wrongfully Convicted where he worked closely with several prominent Toronto criminal defence lawyers.
