Michael B. Brown is a Marquette-based criminal defense attorney and probate lawyer, providing experienced, strategic representation to clients throughout Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. A native Michigander, Mr. Brown earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy from Hope College and his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School. While in law school, he trained in courtroom advocacy through the Mock Trial program and developed the litigation skills that now define his practice. He is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Before founding his practice, Mr. Brown worked both as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney with a respected law firm. This dual experience gives him a critical advantage: he understands how prosecutors build cases, evaluate evidence, and pursue convictions. He uses that insight to identify weaknesses in the government’s case and to develop effective defense strategies for his clients.
