One Health
One Health began with a simple but powerful calling — to bring compassionate, accessible primary care to underserved communities across southeastern Montana. Over time, that mission has evolved into something even greater: a commitment to spark community transformation.
We believe health is more than the absence of illness. True whole health includes meaningful work, a sense of belonging, safe and vibrant spaces, and the empowerment to shape one’s own future. Our vision is to help create communities where every person can thrive — physically, mentally, and socially.
Today, One Health operates numerous sites across central and eastern Montana and northern Wyoming, offering integrated medical, dental, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and pharmacy services. Our model of Whole Community Care recognizes that healing must occur not only within individuals, but also within the broader communities they call home. Guided by local boards of directors, we ensure that each site remains deeply responsive to the unique strengths and needs of the people it serves.
Our Journey of Connection
Inspired by the Apsaalooke (Crow) concept of ashammaléaxia — meaning “as driftwood lodges,” or the idea that we are stronger when joined together — One Health began formally connecting with other community health centers in 2015.
Over the years, independent health centers from Hardin, Ashland, Miles City, Lewistown, Chinook, Powell, Sheridan, and Livingston have become united under one mission and one name: One Health, officially adopted in 2020.
From these roots, One Health has grown into a vibrant, multi-site organization of dedicated team members serving over 25,000 patients across Montana and Wyoming. Our team includes doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, patient service representatives — and many of us are patients and community members ourselves.
Our Commitment
At its heart, One Health is more than a healthcare organization. We are neighbors and partners, committed to advancing health, hope, and opportunity in the rural and frontier communities we call home. We are honored to serve — and to be shaped by — the communities that inspire and sustain our work every day.
