Licensed By: Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV)

 

DUI Programs

 

Level I – First-Time Offender

 

Eligibility:

  • Individuals with no prior DUI program attendance
  • For first-time DUI, DUI-related reduction (Reckless Driving if substance-related), Boating Under the Influence, or drug-related offenses

Components:

  • 12 hours of classroom instruction
  • Face-to-face evaluation (substance use / psychosocial risk assessment)

 

 

Level II – Multiple Offender

Eligibility:

  • Individuals with prior DUI offenses
  • Individuals who have completed a Level I program

Components:

  • 21 hours of classroom instruction
  • Face-to-face evaluation

 

Special Supervision Services (SSS)

 

  • Purpose: Monitoring program for those whose licenses have been revoked (5-year, 10-year, or permanent revocation)
  • Goal: Help drivers regain legal driving privileges safely

 

Ignition Interlock Device (IID)

 

  • Purpose: Required for DUI convictions for license reinstatement
  • BAC Thresholds:
    • Convictions after July 1, 2002: BAC ≥ 0.05
    • Convictions after July 1, 2013: BAC ≥ 0.025
  • Monitoring: Local DUI program oversees compliance with DHSMV

 

Driver Education / Traffic Programs

 

DATE – Drug Alcohol Traffic Education

 

  • Length: 4 hours
  • Purpose: Satisfies Florida traffic law & substance use education requirements for first-time license applicants
  • Format: Online or in-person

 

New Driver Course – State Approved

 

  • Length: 4 hours
  • Cost: $30
  • Eligibility: First-time license seekers (minimum 14 years, 6 months old)
  • Focus: Alcohol/drug effects on driving, safe driving strategies

 

Basic Driver Improvement (BDI) – 4 hours

 

  • Cost: $40
  • Purpose: Avoid points, license suspension, insurance increases
  • Requirements: Driver’s License + Citation or payment receipt

 

Intermediate Driver Improvement (IDI) – 8 hours

 

  • Cost: $40
  • Focus: Accident prevention, extended driver safety strategies
  • Requirements: Driver’s License + Citation

 

Advanced Driver Improvement (ADI) – 12 hours

 

  • Cost: $100
  • Purpose: Court/DMV ordered for drivers with accumulated points:
    • 12 points in 12 months
    • 18 points in 24 months
    • 24 points in 36 months

 

  • Requirements: Driver’s License + Citation
