About Us

West Central Florida Driver Improvement, Inc. (WCFDI) is an established private, not-for-profit (501-c-3) corporation in the State of Florida. Our mission is to provide education and program services to individuals and groups in the communities we serve. These efforts encourage safe and healthy attitudes, behaviors, lifestyles and environments that promote traffic safety, safe and drug free living, minimized emotional strain and reduced financial costs to individuals and society.

We maintain the highest quality and standards for our service delivery by adhering to all state and federally mandated rules, regulations and guidelines. WCFDI is governed by an independent, volunteer Board of Directors. Audits of WCFDI’s financial statements are conducted annually in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards. These financial audits are submitted to the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles each year for their review and approval in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 15A-10.

ELIGIBILITY
Enrollees must live, work, or attend school in Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion, or Sumter County to register with West Central Florida Driver Improvement, Inc.

  • Out-of-county registration is only possible in person with written permission from a licensed DUI Program.
    • Online registration is not available for out-of-county enrollees.

REGISTRATION PROCESS


• Completing online registration does not complete enrollment.
• To finish registration, you must schedule an in-person appointment and provide all required documents.
• Required enrollment paperwork must be completed to schedule class and evaluation appointments.

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS


• Florida identification card or Agency Approved Official Photo ID
• Proof of residence, employment, or school in the five counties (per Florida Administrative Code)
• Copy of traffic tickets/citations issued on date of arrest
• Readable copy of Arrest Report/Probable Cause Report
• Breathalyzer, urine, or toxicology reports, if applicable
• Court information, including notice of hearing or final judgment, if available
• Official Lifetime Florida Driving Record (must be less than 2 weeks old; online or unofficial copies not accepted)

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION


• Class and evaluation appointments cannot be scheduled until in-person registration is completed.
• You have 90 days from online payment to complete registration in person, and complete assigned class and evaluation. Failure results in forfeiture of fees and notification to DHSMV.
• Alcohol or controlled substances are not permitted prior to or during enrollment, class, or evaluation. Positive results may require full payment and repeat attendance.

 

LEVEL I DUI PROGRAM


• For first-time offenders with no previous alcohol or drug-related charges or DUI courses, unless court-ordered to complete Level II
• 12 hours of instruction + 1-hour evaluation
• False information regarding prior offenses may result in Level II enrollment at full fee

LEVEL II DUI PROGRAM


• For individuals with previous Level I completion, multiple offenses, or court-ordered Level II
• 21 hours of instruction + 1-hour evaluation

 

CHANGE FROM LEVEL I TO LEVEL II DUI PROGRAM

 

  1. Offender is responsible for providing accurate information for program placement
  2. Providing inaccurate information may affect driver license reinstatement
  3. Identification of additional DUI requirements after Level I registration results in immediate notification to DHSMV
  4. Offender must enroll in Level II at full fee to satisfy program requirements

  5. • Level I fees are non-refundable

FEDERAL CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE


• Drug and alcohol patient records are protected by 42 CFR Part 2
• WCFDI cannot disclose records without written consent or as permitted by law
• A general authorization for medical information is not sufficient
• Records cannot be used for criminal investigation or prosecution

REGISTRATION FEES


• Level I: $360.50
• Level II: $536.50

 

Fees include:


• Florida state assessment fee: $15.00
• Breath testing fee: $3.00
• Service fee: $10.50 (Level I) / $16.50 (Level II)
• Online processing fee: $7.00

 

PAYMENT AGREEMENT


• Full registration fee is due on the final page of registration
• Payment acknowledges agreement with program rules and regulations
All fees are non-refundable, even if DUI charges are dismissed or administrative suspension is invalidated
