Missouri Drivers License Reinstatement

DUI License Restoration in Missouri Made Easy

Good DUI attorneys can keep you from losing your license for long if at all, especially if it is your first offense. But if your license has already been suspended in Missouri for DUI, hope is not lost. There are some hoops you have to jump through, but the state really makes it cut and dry.

Step One: Substance Abuse Traffic Offenders Program

This requirement for license restoration is often more expensive than the fines imposed for a DUI. You must report for an assessment with the Department of Mental Health, Division of Behavioral Health. At the time of your screening appointment you must pay fees of $375. Additional fees will be required depending on which service level you are determined to require. The minimum treatment fee is $200.

There are four service levels ranging from a one day class to traditional treatment facilities. Once you have completed the required service level treatment and paid the applicable fees, you will receive documentation that you have completed this requirement.

Step Two: Ignition Interlock Device

If the court has ordered that you have an ignition interlock device you must have this installed in your vehicle prior to getting your license reinstated. This device must be installed by a certified company and documentation proving the successful installation must be presented to get your license.

Step Three: Reinstatement Fees

There is a $45 reinstatement fee due at the time of your reinstatement. If your license was suspended for several months or a year, you will be told you cannot pay the fee or get your license until the time is up. This is false!

Drivers license restoration is possible before your court ordered suspension is up. You can apply through the DMV for limited driving privileges. If denied, you can go through the courts. As long as you have completed the above steps and you have good drivers license reinstatement attorneys on your side, you can get approved to drive for obligations like work and school.
